Joseph Villa

Joseph Villa serves as the Vice President of Operations for Columbia Coastal Transport. Mr. Villa is responsible for the operations of Columbia Coastal Transport, the premier container-on-barge operator in the U.S. In this capacity, he oversees the daily operations of the Chesapeake and Northern container on barge services calling the ports of Norfolk, Baltimore and Philadelphia. In addition, Mr. Villa coordinates and manages the fleet of barges and works to develop new container on barge services along with government, military and project cargo opportunities which are important segments of the company’s overall activities.

Mr. Villa has been with Columbia Group since October of 1999 when he joined them as General Manager of Operations. Prior to joining Columbia, Mr. Villa had 18 years of varied operations experience acquired with Sea-land Service, Inc. and then as Marine Operations Manager in Port Everglades, FL. During his tenure with Sea-Land, Mr. Villa held increasingly responsible management positions in terminal operations, equipment control, rail and marine operations

Mr. Villa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.
