Columbia Coastal Transport currently offers container-on-barge transportation services between the following ports:

• Norfolk, VA and Baltimore, MD
• Baltimore, MD and Philadelphia, PA
• Philadelphia, PA and Norfolk, VA

The Barge Service connects the Ports of Norfolk VA, Baltimore MD, and Philadelphia PA on a weekly basis.

Please be advised, the schedule below was created as a guide to the barge service we provide. The timing of port calls is always based on berth availability in any given week.

Chesapeake Service: Pro-Forma

  • The barge service calls at NIT Marine Terminal and Virginia Int’l Gateway Terminal.
  • Friday
    • NIT South 0800 – 1900
    • Cutoff NIT South: Thursday 1600
  • Saturday
    • VIG Terminal 0800-1900
    • Cutoff VIG Terminal: Thursday 1600
• Baltimore
  • The barge service calls at POA Chesapeake, Seagirt Marine Terminal.
  • Tuesday
    • Seagirt Marine Terminal 0800 – 1900
    • Gate Cutoffs:
      • Non-hazardous Baltimore to Norfolk Cargo: Monday 1600
      • Hazardous Baltimore to Norfolk cargo: Friday 1600
      • All cargo for Baltimore to Philadelphia: Friday 1600
• Philadelphia
  • The barge service calls at Holt Logistics, Packer Avenue Marine Terminal.
  • Wednesday
    • Packer Ave Terminal 0800 – 1600
    • Gate Cutoff: Monday 1600
    • Late Gates are available up to 1200 on Tuesday.

Upon completion of operations in Philadelphia, the barge heads to Norfolk for the start of the next week’s rotation.

We can move loads and empties between Baltimore and Philadelphia every week.

In addition to the port rotation outlined above, Columbia Coastal Transport offers container on barge service to other port pairs on inducement.
